IMG_0630Between 29 June and 3 July, 33 Year 7 pupils attended the Belgium Euro Space Tour 2015. They visited the Mini-Europe, Atomium and Oceade Wave Complex sites in Brussels, took part in a Eurospace Centre ‘Astronaut for the Day’ activity and visited Blankenberge Sea life Centre and the Coca-Cola Visitors Centre.

Pupils enjoyed experiencing an overseas residential experience and spending time with friends at Newminster and Chantry whilst on the trip. Pupils stayed at a hostel in the centre of Brussels, sharing a room with between 3 and 5 other pupils.

During their visit to the Eurospace Centre, pupils tried out various practical tasks which recreated the experiences of a trainee Astronaut. They also constructed rockets which were launched 100m into the air!

Pupils enjoyed their visit to the Coca-Cola Visitors Centre. The visit began with a presentation on how the Coca-Cola brand has evolved globally over the past 125 years. The pupils then answered a series of questions on iPads to help choose their perfect drink. We then toured the production and bottling facility in the adjacent factory. The visit concluded with free Coca-Cola drinks for all.

Overall, pupils enjoyed their visit and returned home with lots of new experiences to share.
